The European Union declared that water needs to be considered as a non-commercial product, it is a common good and a limited resource that needs to be protected and used in a sustainable way. Because of its many uses from a variety of sectors, such as agriculture, tourism, transport and energy, it needs to be recycled and cleaned applying the latest technical standards. Students will study different processes to clean water. Students also learn about regulatory frameworks and apply their knowledge to industrial related case studies.

Topics covered include water treatment processes and air cleaning technologies:  

  1. Water treatment operations,
  2. Regulatory frameworks,
  3. Process water purification
  4. Flue gas/ air treatment processes.
Qualifikationsziele

The challenges to water and air pollution will be understood by students and water treatment technologies are introducedThe module also covers key concepts to air treatment technologies. Students are engaged by interactive problem-based learning activities.
